Make a Date for Halloween…An Auto Repair Date.

Many of us wash our cars on a regular basis. Many of us are great about getting the oil changes. But what about everything else under the hood? Not knowing is a scary feeling. Why not use that feeling as a reminder to do an annual check-up…..on Halloween.
How to Give Your Car a Check-Up
No matter where you live or where you go, the changing of seasons is always a good time to give your car a physical. Some experts say Halloween is the best time for everyone – it’s before any holiday road trips, after the hot summer and most importantly, it’s a date we can all remember.
Think of your mechanic as a doctor. Any concerns with the car? Have your list
and show your mechanic what you want checked. Remember, you’re the patient. Ask questions.
Tires: Pressure and Rotation
You should be checking your tire pressure once a month. Most of us don’t, so have your tires checked properly. You may need to rotate or replace them. Check the spare tire, too.
Oil: Switch to Synthetic
To prevent engine wear, have the oil and oil filter changed. You may want to switch to synthetic oil, if you’re not using it already, to help your car operate more efficiently.
Cooling System: Flush and Refill
The cooling system (radiator) should be checked for leaks and lowlevels. Additionally, it should be flushed and refilled as recommended in the owner’s manual. No matter where you live, have the antifreeze checked as well.
Full Engine Tune-up: Systems and Fluid Levels
A tune-up will correct engine problems such as stalling and diminished power, and will also ensure that fluid levels (for brakes, transmission, windshield washer, etc.) are topped off or replaced if needed.
Talk to Your Mechanic!
Think of this as your car’s annual check-up. Just like you’d talk about test results to a doctor, raise any concerns you have to your mechanic. Ask if there is anything you need to keep an eye on. Visiting our service department is often a great way to go. Feel free to call H & H Chevrolet and make an appointment or simply click schedule service at the top of this page. We know that no matter where you go or when you drive, having a healthy car feels good.
